Dear
Mrs. McGowan,
"Gratitude is the memory of the heart" Our hearts are filled with joy and thanksgiving to the Lord for the gifts of life and protection that He has bestowed on us. I am sending herewith the final report on the utilization of the $3,500.00 that you have sent to us representing subsidy for health and nutrition programs of our Children's Home. Recently, our place was hit by a super typhoon which damaged lives and properties of many people. Many residents are still in the state of shock and fear because they have lost their loved ones, houses, belongings, industries, etc. Those who survived had nothing left except the clothes they were wearing. More than 300 people evacuated to our place because their houses were totally washed out by water and mud flow from the Mayon Volcano. We gave them some food and clothing because they were already trembling and frozen being soaked in the rain for one day. Many of them were children and old. What we are trying to prevent now is the outbreak of diseases such as fever, asthma, diarrhea, etc. Though some are already sick but we are still hopeful it will not spread because of early diagnosis and medication. Again, our heartfelt gratitude. May the Lord bless you and your collaborators with His promised "hundredfold". Please continue praying for us as we struggle to put our lives back to normal. Thank you very much! Sincerely in Christ Sr. Aurelia Cascone
