Missionary Children

The Missionary Children Society is the Catholic Church's missionary organisation for children throughout the world. Missionary Children was started in 1843 in France by bishop Charles de Forbin-Janson and was soon adopted by the Church in many countries.

The Society was known in the past as the Holy Childhood and has been the principal charity in Catholic primary schools in living memory. Our motto is "children helping children". Children are encouraged to think of their brothers and sisters across the globe and help in their spiritual and material development.

Missionary Children supported 2664 projects worldwide in 2002, with the bulk of the aid going to the poorest parts of Africa.
Key Aims

* To enable children to help children across the world.
